 Flutter valve is priceless
Reviewed by: Rhonda Smith on Monday, January 14, 2008
Would you recommend the Bedside Drainage Bag w/ Filter to a friend? YES
Pros: Great anti-reflux flutter valve built in-line to avoid backflow!!!!
Cons: Fiber filter becomes odorous after several days of use
Purchased From: online
Review: We have used this particular bag for almost 9 years. Be wary of other bedside drainage bags that say anti-reflux valve, it is usually at the base of the hose where it joins the bag, this one is near the top where you attach it to the catheter. This is great for preventing backflow of urine on patient and preventing UTI's. The second benefit I recently realized when our med supply company sent us the wrong order, urine acts as an adhesive remover for external catheters, causing several 'accidents'.
